Ok, I don't know how magic works in this world yet (i.e. seeing it in use) so my feeling could be off....but I'm expected to believe our MC is a genius of logistics yet he's going to blow untold amounts of funds and potential YEARS to build a city to solve the food problems caused by lack of food crops....except said crops have been planted and an average food crop takes 3-5 months to be harvestable....the problem's already solved, why spend all that money? Unless mages can build the city faster than a week's time he is making a catastrophic blunder, one a logistical genius would recognize in an instant then dismiss this city idea...this is preschool level simplicity.

You missed where covered that converting to the food crops will not solve all their food problems. They need the second port and roads to handle distribution. He's not just looking at the immediate problem, but all future problems.

For sure, the port/city idea was solid, but not a "right now" plan. If I'm remembering the anime correctly the actual solution would have been to expand the farm lands...that's the "right now" solution as it takes the shortest time to complete. Once that's in place (a month or two) THAN work on building their buying/selling/trading power. That's how it worked IRL too: Feed your people first and foremost, than build trade for more diversified goods.

US politicians need to watch this episode because they sucked during 2020 and cost of food has went way up... these fools in office aren't there to do for people just there to gain for themselves... LOL
